DNF at 60%We sadly have to admit we struggled to begin with reading Blindsided however we decided to keep going and it did get better but we finally had to call it a day around 60% We realise we are in the minority considering the reviews out there but it just didn t work for us We were unable to connect with the heroine whose behaviour and personality was very over the top, childish and extreme We loved the Aunty and to a certain extent Corey but there was no real story so it was hard to get DNF at 60%We sadly have to admit we struggled to begin with reading Blindsided however we decided to keep going and it did get better but we finally had to call it a day around 60% We realise we are in the minority considering the reviews out there but it just didn t work for us We were unable to connect with the heroine whose behaviour and personality was very over the top, childish and extreme We loved the Aunty and to a certain extent Corey but there was no real story so it was hard to get excited about this one It was trying too hard, the characters had no vulnerability so in our opinion the whole thing felt quite flat and emotionless

Worst heroine everWell, maybe not, but I truly cannot think of a female protagonist that I disliked as much as this one.First just let me say that I m giving two stars for the simple fact that I did read it The reason for finishing this book was for the sole purpose of finding out if there is a reason for the way this chick acts, and there was never one revealed I think the author might have tried to pass off a couple of excuses, but they were so terribly lame it just made liking this female c Worst heroine everWell, maybe not, but I truly cannot think of a female protagonist that I disliked as much as this one.First just let me say that I m giving two stars for the simple fact that I did read it The reason for finishing this book was for the sole purpose of finding out if there is a reason for the way this chick acts, and there was never one revealed I think the author might have tried to pass off a couple of excuses, but they were so terribly lame it just made liking this female character a total bust. The only way to describe the female lead is quite simply, she s a bitch Plain simple flat flat out bitch She acts, speaks, and treats people like a bitch If the writer was looking for sassy, witty, sarcastic, funny, cute.whatever..she was so far off the mark it s ridiculous This character wasn t even in the same stratosphere as witty, sarcastic, any thing She was just plainly puta raving bitch I thought surely at some point in this book she would change or redeem herself and make me like her, but just..no why did anyone in this book like this chick..oh yeah, her mom s Hollywood s sweetheart or some such drivel That s the only reason I can think of.because she s a bitch Maybe I ve said that too much, so I ll move on.Since the male lead falls in love with this..uhh..mean girl I m trying , I have to say I couldn t like him either That s so sad because he s a hot football player, and I love football and football players This story could have turned out to be a five star read because really the storyline had great potential However, the way the female character was written just killed this in the water I would love for this writer to clean up her characters and turn them into actually likeable andattractive, and that doesn t include physical characteristics This is entirely attitude, personality, behavior I can see that this is the making of a series, but I can honestly say it will take a lot of thought as to whether I read further The next book involves the best friend of the female in this one, and she is just as bad as this chick in the attitude department We shall see

Just because it s that time of year and the playoffs are hot and heavy for the best in the leagues, I thought a football themed romance was a good ticket The game started off with some good passes and it looked like maybe a good game was in the making But it takes a whole team to make it to the winner s circle Here, a lot of the plays were a bit weak, some fell short of the goal line, and a few fumbles by our quarterback kept this game just out of reach Even the lovely cheerleader was a Debb Just because it s that time of year and the playoffs are hot and heavy for the best in the leagues, I thought a football themed romance was a good ticket The game started off with some good passes and it looked like maybe a good game was in the making But it takes a whole team to make it to the winner s circle Here, a lot of the plays were a bit weak, some fell short of the goal line, and a few fumbles by our quarterback kept this game just out of reach Even the lovely cheerleader was a Debbie Downer Her cheers were a bit weak and the pom poms just weren t enough to shake it up and turn it all around Still yet, this one was bundled in a whole lot of hot sizzling action, most of which was off the field and some very sassy and heated interactions between the star quarterback and his homecoming queen

This is the second book I ve read by Emma Hart, the first one being Dirty Secret I absolutely LOVED Dirty Secret and Conner Burke That being said I was super excited to get my hands on Blindsided Unfortunately I have to give this 3 1 2 stars The reason being there were a lot of errors, I can usually look past a lot of stuff But it was hard in this one because it was sentences being repeated and broke up the flow Things that an editor and beta readers should ve caught instantly I generally This is the second book I ve read by Emma Hart, the first one being Dirty Secret I absolutely LOVED Dirty Secret and Conner Burke That being said I was super excited to get my hands on Blindsided Unfortunately I have to give this 3 1 2 stars The reason being there were a lot of errors, I can usually look past a lot of stuff But it was hard in this one because it was sentences being repeated and broke up the flow Things that an editor and beta readers should ve caught instantly I generally don t rate a book based on these types of errors, I just couldn t recommend this book to anyone with these errors in it I think that it would be a better book if these were fixed Now on to the story itself I liked Leah, she seemed like a no nonsense type of girl Strong, opinionated, independent, fun, everything I like in a leading lady Corey, oh man Corey, HOT, built, cocky, arrogant ALPHA male, also everything I like in a leading man I m just not sure how I felt about the game playing that they did and the way Corey pursued her to just fuck her Leah could ve shut that down really quick if she was as strong as she portrayed herself to be I think this because at the beginning he didn t show a side that made me think that he had a heart under all that cocky swagger It did come out later in the book but it was a bit further in and at a point that made me question what Leah was seeing in him Of course once the layers started being peeled back on their personalities than I was like ah, ok I get it now I realize for some people they may not have the patience for that and most likely won t continue on reading I can t not finish a book, that s just me But I m glad I finished this one I liked the friendships between the main characters and the side characters As well as the family interactions So I m looking forward to where these characters will be in the upcoming books in this series I m just really hoping that the editing improves and that the errors are fixed in this book And that I don t see the same types of errors in the next books It honestly broke the flow and that s what caused my rating Other than that everything else did end up working for me in the story

Sigh I wanted to love this book I really really did It had so many elements that I love Touches of humor, football, hot football players, a woman who loves football, etc But it just fell flat for me It s not a bad book Emma Hart can write well and that alone carries a lot But the story just didn t work for me Couple reasons why 1 I felt no connection to the couple I just wasn t rooting for them Corey was such a dick for most of the first half of the book It took him until like 60% Sigh I wanted to love this book I really really did It had so many elements that I love Touches of humor, football, hot football players, a woman who loves football, etc But it just fell flat for me It s not a bad book Emma Hart can write well and that alone carries a lot But the story just didn t work for me Couple reasons why 1 I felt no connection to the couple I just wasn t rooting for them Corey was such a dick for most of the first half of the book It took him until like 60% to realize that maybe he wantsthan sex His blatant desire to just have her fucked out of his system did not sit well with me at all What worse was her acceptance of it It took no time for her to turn around from being mad and go right into wanting him again No thanks 2 Leah s secret Yawn I m sorry but her big secret was not that big to me As Corey put it she s hiding in plain sight It was so ridiculous to me On top of that 3 Forced angst I am not the greatest lover of a lot of angst I can stand some but when it gets to be too much or seemed forced, I just can t stand it It happened throughout the course of the book mostly because Leah was so ridiculous about Corey and keeping things a secret And when shit hits the fan in the end I just can t The way she treats him and doesn t listen is so over the top and it was just maddening Again wanted to love this but it just fell flat That being said a lot of people loved it so maybe give it a shot
