I read it yesterday, after having seen it appear again and again in my recommendations, after having read so many positive reviews, I finally decided to give it a try, and I have to say I m rather disappointed Not because of the series itself, rather because of the reviews which led me to have great expectations which in four books couldn t be satisfied I don t really know how to explain it, expectations which in four books couldn t be satisfied I don t really know how to explain it, but as I was going through the pages, I had the impression something was off It s frustrating not to be able to point it out I d say it comes from the atmosphere, the characters are surprising, in a good way, with their strength and weaknesses Their reactions, when you know their stories, sound right However, if they do sound right one by one, something is missing to make them work all together.I really liked the sweetness the author succeeded in putting in this story with such a theme though Overall it was a good read, but not as much as I expected So I finished reading this like a few minutes ago and it was all right For the overall series, I give it two stars.I gave it two stars because there wasn t anything like really amazing about it It was just Okay Plus, I didn t really like the art that much. The ending was really cheesy The characters were really cheesy The whole concept of the story was kind of sad but nothing really made it original Which could have made it better, if it had something to the plot that made it the same clich So I finished reading this like a few minutes ago out to me I m not gonna point them out because this is supposed to be a spoiler free review, so yeah DSo Kriss and Andi my brothers , it wasn t that amazing as you thought Oh, and while we re on this topic, you guys need to readof a variety of books PSo all in all, the overall series gets 2 stars Reading this series was like having a tooth pulled painful but in a good way Based around the author s experience of having a stillborn child, it is the most mature and touching manga I ve ever read It is definitely worth checking out www.onemanga.com has a well translated version available to read on very same day he goes to a deserted church and finds that girl, Aikawa He pretends to be a priest and listens to her confession.Aikawa confesses her deepest secret, her scar, her pain and regret, not knowing it was Suwa She had come to confess that she had been raped by her step father She had then become pregnant, she miscarried She told her mother who couldn t believe her and then she had become pregnant again She had borne a child a year ago a child she didn t even get to see It was a baby boy and was given away to adoption She cried and asked, was she allowed to celebrate his birthday Suwa had never been confronted with something like this He doesn t know what to say, what to do or what not to do He tells her god is with her. Then begins the story of Suwa and Aikawa It was a beautiful story about trust, hope, friendship, and also love A story about how Suwa teaches Aikawa to love again Aikawa is very strong, but she also needed a support Suwa became that support for her Everything he did, he did in hopes of helping her.I loved their relationship At every point Suwa thinks of how Aikawa must be feeling He puts her in every sitation and tries to analyse her feelings When his sister comes back, he tries to put Aikawa in her place When his sister gives birth to a stillborn baby, he tries to see how Aikawa might have felt The fact that he is confused only shows that he is still a teenage boy But his perseverrence shows how much he had grown eversince he met and knew Aikawa I loved Suwa s sister s relationship with him It was beautiful The last things she told him made me cry This manga has a lot of complex relationship, but it is their complexity that shows how real it can be The characters were well balanced They all had their strength and weaknesses and together they blended to create this story.Bitter Virgin was a wonderful Manga Experience Really touching series Intended for a mature ish audience Must know how to read manga. The story, characters, pacing, tones, ending well done here Beautiful.
